Welcome to “Mad About Medicine”, a tell-it-like-it-is blog written by Dr. Ira Kirschenbaum. As he says in his opening salvo, he’s a black-or-white, love-or-hate-him kind of guy. I think he is straightforward and honest and definitely passionate. I wish we had more like him on our side.

The problem is that insurance companies are pulling so much profit out of medicine there is nothing left for anyone even to get a thermometer up where the sun don’t shine.
