My mom sent this email tonight…
Usually we go visit Mother after swimming & going by her home to check for mail. Today we didn’t as I had an appt. When I got home about 11:30 there was a message to call the nursing home. When I called they said she was declining. When I got there she didn’t acknowledge me or seem to realize I was there. She never opened her eyes. She was very restless, tearing at her gown, trying to take it off, & she would not keep even a sheet on. It was like she was very hot but she did not have a fever. Her breathing was very rapid, not a good sign they said. She had already stated that she did not want to go back to the hospital to die so all we can do is try to keep her comfortable.
Say a prayer that she doesn’t suffer.
To you who read this, friends and strangers, please say a small prayer that one wonderful 95-year old lady who has given so much of herself for so many years does not suffer….
