Last night I came to post and discovered my site was completely down. A bit of investigation said that the maximum database connections were exceeded, but I can’t seem to find any reason for that in the site metrics. Just weirdness.
However, it resulted in me losing two posts that I can’t piece back together coherently now, so it’s been a quiet blogging day.
On the other hand, it was one of those days where too much was going on and not enough time to give my full attention to anything, so I’m left at the end of the day with fragments of things done and shards of things undone with a full plate again tomorrow.
It’s days like today where I wish for a calmer life. But that doesn’t last long, because like most ADDers, I loathe boredom.
My favorite solution to boredom is to grab the camera and take a walk, not be glued to the computer, my desk and the phone all day, but that’s where I was and a photo break wasn’t possible. Because I get antsy, I grabbed the portable phone and walked outside, looked up, and lo! two HUGE red-tailed hawks were circling not more than 20 feet directly above me. They were so close I could count their dang tail feathers! Did I have my camera? Of course not? Could I get it? Not and focus on my phone conversation. Taking pictures requires 100% mindshare.
Just to taunt me, they went away and came back. Again and again, until I hung up the phone. Decided to take a 10-minute break and see if they’d come back.
Of course they didn’t. They were bored with me.
