Thank God for Pasta

by Karoli on April 20, 2006

Yes, the surgery was today and was remarkably uneventful. I’m very glad to have pasta, because it’s about all I can eat at this point, but otherwise things are pretty good!

I arrived, forked over the life savings, was put into a chair that resembled the electric chair you see in the movies (No lie!), they strapped on the nitrous mask and I vaguely remember an IV being administered.

That was it. I woke up an hour later to a mouthful of gauze and instructions for meds that I’m grateful T heard. Went home, took a nap, and am at least awake, if not sharp as a tack.

I haven’t needed to use the Vicodin at all — Motrin has served just fine. They gave me Prednisone for the swelling (I’m not that happy about that…) and an antibiotic to stave off infection.

The new smile is well….dazzling. I’ll post a photo after I’ve at least gotten past the woozy zoned feeling that always follows general anesthesia.

Thanks for all of your good wishes and thoughts! They definitely helped. :)
