Oh, Nikon Repairman….

Yes, it’s true. The gumball shot cost me more than the price of a few bags of gumballs. (I had to buy six bags to get the colors I wanted…) In the process of taking the shot The Pug, suffering from doggy dysentery, ran across the living room in a mad dash to the patio to relieve her poor self for the tenth time and in the process hit the tripod, knocking it over.

Before I could catch it, the camera detached and landed with a sickening thud on the floor. After saying a few “Hail Marys” I picked it up, turned it off and back on and heard a sort of grinding shutter curtain adjustment. Ugh.

So my beloved Nikon is in the factory-approved Nikon hospital overnight undergoing a repair and cleaning (badly needed anyway). Think good thoughts, maybe it’ll come home tomorrow. In the meantime, enjoy a..

  • Oh NO! I just hate it when stuff like that happens. Glad the doctor was in :). I just got my Garmin GPS60CS back from the warrenty center. A pleasant surprise - they sent me a brand new one. Not even refurbished - brand new - woo hoo. The original died on the trip to Mississippi. The techs could not get my data out of the old one. Kind of a bummer because I was going to use the time stamps on the tracking to identify the locations of all my pictures - hence I have not a clues as to where some of them were taken.

    It is a good thing that I recieved a brand new one within two weeks of sending in the broken one.

    Looking foward to seeing the first picture taken after the surgery and cleaning. The Romaine is making me hungry...
