Questions to questions

by Karoli on May 22, 2006

Wow, life got crazy last week! Not only that, but there were some incredible photo opportunities that came up (a couple of them posted here) and the two combined made a quiet blogging week. I’m about to make up for it.

I’ve been hyperfocused and unfocused all at the same time. The photo thing really got me to hyperfocus hard. On the other hand, there were so many loose ends, time hogs and other distractions that I have been feeling extraordinarily unfocused in my daily life.

Kmilyun ponders the rain, the levee situation here, and broader questions:

I sit here listening to the rain come down wondering what is going to happen to the plans to reinforce the levees in California. What are the people along the southern coast going to do to survive another hurricane season. Is Edwards going to run for President. How many died in Iraq today. Anybody find a cure for cancer, AIDS, or a solution to our environmental problems.

Ah, this all goes to the broader perspective blogging question…and I haven’t found a focus for that yet…still looking. In the meantime I’m going to keep doing what I’ve been doing, which is being my ADHD self and hopping from topic to topic, which leads into Kmilyun’s closing question:

Some of the blogs that I enjoy reading have stopped posting or slowed down. Others are questioning why they even bother. The others are gettting read I hope and I do see a few responses on them. Knowing that a person has to pick a subject and stay with it to become a “read” blog kind of takes all the fun out of it.

Is there some requirement that says we have to stick to one topic? I hope not, because if that’s the case I’m in trouble. I still say that the best blogging is what we do for ourselves, and hopefully there are others out there who think it’s worth reading.

We’re also at the end of the school year, which means lots of extra concerts, projects, and driving. It’s all adding up to me feeling fragmented, burned out, and frazzled. Anyone else out there feel the same way?
