Cats and Pugs

by Karoli on May 23, 2006

Dear Joel and the cats,

Rest assured, dear cats, that the pug is held at bay by the roving cat patrols which keep us all in line, no matter the time of day. I am not keen on catscratched noses, so keep a proper distance unless, of course, I’m the one chasing them.

I snort at the suggestion that I would eat cat food — while I may be catlike in some respects, a pug is NOT a cat and would not take kindly to receiving anything other than certified, genuine pug food, preferably from the gourmet dog food store.

I forced DnW to photograph her most recent encounter with the DCP (daily cat patrol) to prove my sincerity:

Afternoon cat patrol

Sincerely,

Chloe the Pug

  • We are deeply concerned by the emaciated appearance of the Patrol Cat depicted in the photo. As active combatants in the War on Terrier, we call for the immediate airlift of large quantities of cat food to the vincinity. This is clearly a case of Feline Rights Violations. As alternative, your owner should consider the release of mice. This will not only provide food for the starving kitties but also recreation and exercise.

We accept your declaration to be uninterested in cat food. We have, however, a new concern. Many of our cat toys have gone missing. We have searched high and low for them. Most missed is Tiger Tail. We call on you to engage in an immediate search of your home. If you should find Tiger Tail, we demand its immediate return.

If you do not comply with this reasonable ultimatum, we will be forced to invade.
