It's not illegal to own a home in the US when you are not a US citizen. And while we're on the subject, the funds they used to purchase said home were earned with AFTER-TAX dollars earned while contributing to the economic health of this region and country. I hate the INS. Even when you ARE legal, they treat you as if you are some kind of criminal (my experience years ago when obtaining my husband's green card). Deporting people who are making a solid contribution; tearing apart families is just WRONG. I hate these stories. I hate the INS.
