This is taken at sunset, but it is really a photo of the hordes of cormorants flying in to roost in our trees. This bunch (on the upper left) was the first of four groups that flew in within 10 minutes, all fighting for their own branch on one of three trees. (the Heron Tree is strictly off-limits). It was eerie — like being in a remake of “The Birds”.
