Flickr: 30,000 Views!

by Karoli on October 16, 2006 · 42 comments

If someone had told me that my photos would be viewed 30,000 times in less than a year I’d have laughed. Hard. :) But I hit 30K yesterday!

Here’s a collage of just a few of my favorites. At last count I had something like 3,000 marked as faves – all of those folks serve as inspiration for me.

And one other little news tidbit — I received an email last week asking permission to use one of my photos for a postcard campaign in the midwest to raise money for music and the arts in their area. I was flattered and of course gave permission — just asked for credit on the photo. That’s what I love about Creative Commons licensing when it works. Just ask me for permission and tell me what it’s for and we’ll work it all out. No need to steal, which some folks have recently been doing over on Flickr.

Congrats on all. Especially the 1/10th toward the lens. Emm… track this conversation at the bottom …

Hee, hee, how much traffic are you getting now? You may turn out to be the only high ranked blog I have posted on LOL.

Catfish and Annie request a new pug picture – equal exposure for the dogs!

Y’know, the track this message thing is the CoComment plugin — I like CoComment except on Flickr…I make too many “Great shot!” comments to want to track them all and CoComment doesn’t really play nice with Flickr.

The number of visitors I’ve had to the blog has stayed fairly static for the past month or so, though I’ve had a big page view surge this month and last, which is nice. I guess that means folks are reading more of what’s here.

I keep waiting for you to do some political commentary so I can blog it on the political side….hmmm?

I was embargoed from posting pug photos by the daughter, who claimed all Flickr rights to pug pictures. I occasionally sneak through one from the cell phone. :) But now that she’s back in school, I might be able to reclaim my rightful pug territory.
    :)

I stepped away from politics for awhile – I get a headache LOL. What I would blog about right now is so politically incorrect that I – well I just dont :)

I should start an anonymous blog somewhere LOL where nobody knows it is I!

Controversy always brings a smile to the hit department.
