The game may be an expression of the creator's past experiences. I had terrible incidents all throughout my years in high school but I went too far in response. The stories of my outlandish reactions have become the stuff of pulp fiction since then. People liked hearing about my tragedies so much that I started writing a series of novels about them. That's how I worked out the feelings.

My HAWKS Foundation books are growing in popularity partly because these school incidents have not yet stopped. I hope that in my pages people will find some understanding as to the way teenagers are treated in our schools and our society.

My new book is called Almost Columbine, it's 350 pages and even though it's the 3rd book in the series, this is the one that everyone will want to read. Even though it is fiction and some of the events are designed by earshot rather than clear sight, I believe it will add a great deal to the ongoing debate about our school system.

I don't know if this new game will help anything. Regardless, I have no intention of playing it.

 Thanks, Alex Hutchinson

[...] DrumsNWhistles writes one of the more interesting blogs I’ve read in a long time because, and I don’t meant any sort of insult by this — you never know what she’ll write about next. Read the post Bullies to find out her views about a common problem in all schools, and how these problems are being translated in a new video game on the market. [...]

I have a friend whose job involves working in a school system to locate kids who have been bullied. These are the kids who are sometimes driven to the edge and end up 'going Columbine'.

P.S. Children who bully to the point of endangering lives or actually killing have been on my mind a lot lately. Lots in the news in Canada and the UK, including this one: http://www.canada.com/globaltv/national/story.html?id=79583b8a-a825-43da-916e-f2b26289ecba

I am the last person who thinks video games are to blame for all our woes in the world. I love computer and console games, my sons loved them, their adorable friends loved them. They're all grown up now and doing just fine. I also worked for the gaming industry for many years.

But this is a BAD idea on Playstation's part. Sadly, I'm not surprised it's been created. Ugh.
