Update: The majority of the smoke is coming from a fire in Moorpark, CA. We have friends who have been ordered to evacuate, and other friends who are in danger of evacuation. There is another, smaller fire burning next to CSUCI as well, and the wind is blowing the smoke and ashes straight into our path…but we’re grateful to be away from immediate danger. Our prayers go out to our friends in Moorpark.
There’s a fire to the east — not being reported on the news, but it’s been smoky here since about 3AM. My guess is somewhere around the Conejo Grade, but without any news reports, it’s hard to know.
