Thanks to all the delurkers…

by Karoli on January 15, 2007

I really enjoyed seeing you all come out and leave your comments. The Pug appreciated it too….

Mathew Ingram is one of my favorite tech bloggers, even though we didn’t exactly see eye to eye in the beginning and often still don’t. Mathew is a technology writer for the Globe and Mail in Toronto and blogs about everything from Web 2.0, to the newest gadgets, including the ubiquitous iPhone.

Kris‘ blog is A Mom on a Mission and she is my kindred spirit when it comes to politics. She’s got posts on everything from Eggnog Pound Cake (YUM) to meal planning (which I’m following closely after my MIL revealed the mistaken impression that the only person who cooks in our home is BigDog). Go visit. :)

Cocoa Sleeps by TamiTamela is a Flickr buddy, a chef, and an awesome photographer. Plus, I covet her Nikon D200 badly. She is also a fellow pug lover, which is always an extra added bonus. Oh and before you decide which cupcake toppers (thanks, Denise!) you’re going to use, visit A Cupcake Life! for some good cupcake recipes.

Brenda Back, you came and commented but without a link. Drop one in a comment somewhere and I’ll link back to ya! Brenda has a pug named Sasha, aka Bingey.

Sheila Cameron came and left a note on my Scientology Sunday post letting me know that she is beginning the campaign to save David Beckham from the Cruise Cabal…visit her CafePress store here for lots of campaign material. :) Sheila’s site is Free Katie, where she’s got message boards and the latest on the Cruise Cult Cabal’s doings. (Plus she’s funny!)

Kmilyun at Bifurcate in the Road just got herself a Nikon D80 (another camera I’d love to have) today and is a frequent commenter here. As I recall, she delurked around this time last year and it’s been fun to have her input and comments on the blog. Over on Kmilyun’s blog you’ll find photos of her wonderful dog Annie. Watch in the coming weeks for more good stuff as she discovers all the fun bundled up in that D80. :) Beyond photos, Kmilyun is a kindred Hurricane Katrina blogger, fishing afficionado, motorcycle rider, and wooden ship scale modeler.

Liz Ditz is someone who always challenges me to think, and I had the pleasure of meeting her at Bloghercon last year. She’s the one to visit for information about learning disabilities (particularly dyslexia), educational issues and stupid Internet laws like DOPA. She also has a daughter Sticks’ age who is graduating this year, too and heading for college.

Jay Allen aka The Zero Boss is another blogger I discovered as a result of all the PayPerPost hoopla a few months back. It’s funny — if there is such a thing as a nose-to-nose confrontation in the blogosphere we were having it in the comments section of his post dissing the whole idea. But you know, we ultimately agreed to disagree on that and Jay is so great at being funny and outrageous, yet also hitting hard with some wonderfully written posts that leave you going “wow….”, that the differences were hardly enough to stop me from reading and subscribing. Read this one about the misery he went through in high school to see what I’m talkin’ about. It’s writing like that which keeps me subscribed to his blog.

Lee is another Flickr buddy and blogger who blogs at Nuthin’ Fancy. Lee’s illustrations are wonderful — everything from tattoos to beer. Lee drew the illustration on our Christmas card this year (which reminds me that I need to send her one of them…LOL).

Thanks to all of you for delurking. I’m looking forward to reading, commenting and blogging more with, from and about you over the next year.

  • Your blog looks wonderful. I like how you change it and update it often. I love that picture of Cocoa that you chose for here. I actually shot that in Raw and on total manual control. I am always trying to improve my photography and I think it is Awesome that there is a place like Flickr where I learn so much from everyone. I have learned so much through our photographs and love your macro photography. Thank you very much for adding links to my work. I am glad to count you as a friend and fellow pug lover. Hugs to Chloe.
    Thanks,
    Tamela
