From the Annals of Truly Insane Educators

via EdWonks, the story of a drug-pushing principal. And he wasn’t selling just a lid here and there, either, but was dealing crystal methamphetamine from his office after school!

Hey, Julie Amero jury, Pennsylvania needs you. Badly. This is one where you could hang him high and I’d applaud. Too bad he’s not going to be tried in Norwich, CT.

But hey, just to make you feel a teensy bit better, the DEA reassures the parents:

There was no indication that John Acerra sold the drug to students at Nitschmann Middle School, where he was arrested Tuesday, said Dennis Mihalopoulos, an agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration.

You can pick up all the sordid bust details at the EdWonks link. I’m ashamed to have to admit that this yoyo is part of my generation, you know, the one that came of age in the 70s and lived out our formative years during the hippy/free love/free drugs/rock and roll days. Now we’re mainstream and some of us, apparently, are still doing the drugs and rock ‘n roll thing.

Removing my tongue from my cheek for just a moment, I’m truly speechless at the utter gall of this person. This really is someone who should have the book thrown at him. I cannot imagine having to explain to my little Johnny or Janey who attends this middle school that their principal — the same one who gives the zero-tolerance lectures and expels students for any number of violations (drugs being one of them) — is selling the stuff right there under their noses.
