I know it isn’t a joke because we received a note earlier this week as a heads-up that this was coming — and a good thing, too, or we might’ve thought it was a joke. I took the name and amount out to protect the innocent.

The College of Music is pleased to offer you a Jazz Studies Scholarship in the amount of $xxxx for the 2007-2008 academic year. If you are not a resident of the State of Texas, the scholarship will allow you to register at resident tuition rates for the academic year including both 2008 summer sessions. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of your talent and desire to participate in the College of Music programs at the University of North Texas.
