Well it sure isn't just about old people. Do you Really think just takin' your toys and going home is effective?
Stupid must be attacked head on. (not with loosing your temper and ranting back)
If You let the Fools Rule………the FOOLS RULE!
You must show more patience. You must say things kindly, no matter What is said to you. You must step into the lions den and Speak. Whispering what you think is right to your friends is not changing a single mind. That is more of a waste of time than Facebook.

Hi Vanessa,

I always viewed Facebook the same as you, until every geek blog I read started chirping about it, and then I received an invitation from a friend starting a group on there.

I agree completely about not judging the many by the actions of the few. At the same time, the few who are spewing should be called out on it. Even if they don’t change their behavior, the message should be that they don’t get to behave that way in public.

Wow, I didn’t know this was an issue. I view FaceBook as MySpace for college kids so I was never interested in joining. Unfortunately, these are the children raised by our children and/or us.

Those ‘young’ people that spew such hatred didn’t just wake up a few days ago like that; they have been little trolls all their lives. An ‘old’ person/parent should have provided better guidance earlier in the child’s life.

Perhaps, as parents/guardians of these ‘young’ people, we didn’t think the hateful comments about a particular ethnicity or religion or sexual preference would spill over to ageism, but it did.

The few spewing hatred should not cloud our judgement of ‘young’ people as a whole.
