Shifting Winds

Desolation
The Zaca Fire is now nearing its second month, and weather conditions turned the smoke and ash our way today. This was sunset, looking northwest toward Oxnard. When the ash mixes with foggy, cloudy skies, the result is a fantastic sunset and truly rotten air quality. Total acres burned: 220,863 as of yesterday. Even though it’s about 80 percent contained, it continues to spew ash like a volcano gone wild, particularly when the wind turns toward home.
Night is no better: The moon turned red tonight.
