Puppies and Gremlins

Some Blogspot blogs [EDIT] contain links to an executable file [/EDIT] that is a badass worm, and you really want to stay away from digital puppies.

Like I said, the Internet isn’t a friend right now.

(Note: Thanks to Stephen Downes for the correction — I shouldn’t write stuff like this at 3 am…)

That’s really sloppy writing that needs to be corrected.

The blogs are not infected. There is no worm in the blogs.

What has happened is that the worm – inside people’s copies of Windows – have caused their email systems (probably Outlook) to send email to every address on their address list, including their blogs.

When you click on the URL in the email (or on the blog, because that’s where the email ends up) it attempts to download and run an .exe file. That’s how people get infected.

Thank you, Stephen. It was sloppy writing and I’ve corrected it.
