According to this study, 20 percent admitted to spending less time having sex to be online. 48% said the Internet was a necessity, and ranked cell phones higher in importance than TV. 28% said they spent less time with friends because of the time spent online.
What an interesting study! The results aren’t that surprising (well, maybe the sex results but the others aren’t). What I’m curious about is what those respondents are doing while they’re online. Are they active in communities, or passively surfing? Assuming that this trend continues on an upward curve, I’m curious to know how people optimize their online experience.
The one missing question and answer for me would have been “Would you sacrifice sleep for blogging?”. My answer is clearly yes, given that if I weren’t writing this blog post right now I’d be in bed, with the pug snuggled securely between me and BD.
