someone from the 'other side'

Oh My…the song 'If”…was written for George W.Bush. 'If' there was ever a man lied about, scorned, and maligned for doing what he thought was right it would be him. And through it all he has never indulged in self-pity, complained, backed down, or gotten angry. He is truly a man of conviction and strength, and not only that he has maintained his sobriety, remained faithful to his wife, taken care of the land he has been given stewardship over, ( the ranch in Crawford is very 'green' ), and brought up two healthy daughters, who are now helping others in the tradition of the Bush family. I know that's a long sentence, but some things need to be said. Joni sounds a little bitter and depressed on her latest album. Maybe 'if' she opened up her heart to the good and decent people in the world instead of marching along to the beat of the hate battalion her music would be as beautiful as it used to be.

Thanks for your comments. I respectfully agree to disagree with you about GWB, particularly with regard to the statement that he's been lied about. I do agree with you that he's done what he thought was right. It's just that what he thought was right was based on falsehood and subterfuge, like telling us that Iraq was building weapons of mass destruction as a reason to invade them.

I'm afraid I feel a little bitter and depressed, too, which is probably why I like this album so much.
