Having smoke in the air is nothing compared to losing a home, or a life. As bad as things are here, they are far worse in San Diego and elsewhere. The newly-ignited Magic Fire will threaten my brother’s home for the second time in four years, friends living near Malibu are evacuated safely but have no idea what’s happened to their home, and other friends near San Diego also have evacuated. I’m grateful for the safety of where we live, and we’re all praying for our friends and family members who are not yet out of danger.
