Motrin Steps Up, Apologizes

by Karoli on November 17, 2008

To give credit where credit is due…The offending video has been removed from the Motrin website. In its place, an apology:

Now would be the time for the criticism to end and constructive suggestions to begin, I think. So Motrin, come on back, get plugged in, and let the community work with you toward a better and more effective campaign.

  • thanks
  • Hooray for mom power!
  • I don't know if the moms who protested are going to fully appreciate how quickly Motrin and their agency moved on this, but I can speak from personal experience with ad campaigns and say the ability to pull ads quickly is challenging, and it's impressive that they're solving this as quickly as they are. Large companies -- particularly large, consumer packaged goods companies -- move glacially under ordinary circumstances. They should be applauded for stepping up and remedying the situation as they have.

You're absolutely right, Karoli. Time for constructive dialogue now!
