spring slips in

spring slides in

This is a sure sign that this cold, wet, gray winter is sliding into spring: lilacs blooming on our young tree-lings. They were planted three years ago and bloom every March right on schedule.

The thing about lilacs is that one day there is one small cluster, and the next the entire tree is ablaze with them. Last week it was just this small cluster wrapping around the wooden pole bracing the tree. This week, they are all bursting with purple lilac goodness, a sign that warmer, drier, better days are ahead.

Nice photos. Now I REALLY want a new camera. The last photos I posted were taken with my cell phone and they really suck.

I look forward to catching up on all the political stuff too.

Thank you! My poor Nikon D70 is on its last leg…100,000+ shots later it
desperately needs to be replaced, but for now it's on the wait until later
list. Unless, of course, I am suddenly offered a zillion dollars by an
    unknown benefactor.
