yes, FOAF import is available in Friendfeed. You have to do it as a custom RSS.

The real-time changes are definitely where it's at! Your FriendFeed reasoning is spot-on, so pimp away! NOW I'm going to put some time into getting to know FF. Although I do have an account, I haven't been much of a FF user (little embarrassing, I know, especially since partner/hubby is such a proponent of the service). Sounds like a console from which to – more than wade through the social media morass – but to use as a command center. Looking forward to the next post.
