Absolutely. Me too. It is beyond comprehension that they want to fill their children's heads with hate and hardened partisanship. I also predict a backfire at some point, when some of those same kids turn out to be gay, or worse yet, liberal.

They would much rather hear an inarticulate white guy. It is “scary” to them that a black person has so much power. They have demonized and painted this caricature of the black person and he flies in the face of that. They don't want their children to be “confused” by what they see; especially since it directly contradicts what they have told them for so many years.

As a former teacher, I often had my days interrupted for some politician who wanted to come in and hand out something then make a “few remarks.” Nothing was said by the administration nor parents.

Hope we get back to a place with this President where the office is respected. Disagree if you must but be civil and have respect for the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES no matter what color his/her skin, religion, or cultural diversity. I know too naive; but I'd rather be that way than so filled with hate.

I really want to write a comment here. But for the first time in my entire cyber career, I am speechless after watching that video and reading this article.. What is with these people? Keep their kids home from school rather than have them watch a speech given by the President of the United States? Are they crazy?
