Thanks, Elizabeth, and thank you for stopping by. I do believe we will see
health care reform pass, and pass with a public option. If there's one thing
experience tells me, it's that President Obama knows what he's doing and how
to do it in a way that accomplishes the goal. (Even if Congress is a
pain...)

I'm sorry your son and your family are having to deal with an issue like that. I can empathize wholly. I've got a spinal cord injury that I sustained when I was 16 and had Tricare (active-duty father). Well, I'm almost 23, supporting myself obviously, and there is no way in hell I'll ever get insurance until I can qualify for Medicare. I can't GET Medicare because even though I have a hole in my spine and titanium rods and screws holding it together, I'm not REALLY considered disabled, because I can walk. Nice right?

Well, we'll be fighting the good fight and in the end people like Baucus will be people remembered only in jest.

Thank you for writing such a great blog!

Yep. That's the question we all (in the education field here) ask and never hold our breath for the answer. My family back east can't understand why we don't just (uproot ourselves, destroy my husband's tenure & lose his career ladder benefits) and move back east so he could make double his salary all so we could afford to break even because of the higher cost of living there. Healthcare reform and education reform are the biggest challenges we deal with in this family. It's like we live with a constant double-whammy. We all suffer from "No Child Gets Ahead." Just when we think we have it bad with healthcare issues in this country, then we turn around and see even more red at what the Republicans propose gets cut from education and teacher compensations. It's sickening and I can only hope and stomp and tweet and blog that something gets done about it. Hope is all we have to hang on to anymore, but at least there is that, thanks to Obama.
