If Comcast acquires NBC and implements this "right" network to come on-line then I am dropping ALL of my cabbe and internet services with them. I think the media is being blasted with all the repugs shows on now, let alone start more. Enough is enough so go ahead Comcast, I already have 9 households with me and I will work to expand people dropping Comcast if this happens.

Sundance shouldn't be listed, NBC and CBS sold its stakes in that network in 2008 to Rainbow Media (Cablevision) -- along with it, they own AMC and IFC.

We all remember the good old days when the phone company wielded almost dicatatorial power and you coudn't even install your own phone without Ma Bell threatening to sue you. The NBC sale to Comcast is just the media equivalent of the old Ma Bell monopolies. It is an anachronism that has no place in today's world.<br>Are you listening, conservative free market loudmouths?

Comcast's Evil Plot to Control "TV Everywhere"

There can be no clearer indication of the dominate control that Comcast is seeking to gain on the future of TV than the announcement that Comcast owned thePlatform made today on providing an authentication solution for the Cable Industry's "TV Everywhere" initiative.

http://www.multichannel.com/article/389628-ThePlatform_Wants_To_Handle_TV_Everywhere_For_Everyone.php

With this solution Comcast is clearly leveraging its dominate position as the largest Cable MSO to "offer" [essentially force] programmers to use its proprietary authentication solution if these programmers want to offer access to pay-tv programming on their own site.

Since this authentication solution will not only be used by programmers to interface with Comcast's billing system but other Cable/IPTV companies as well, Comcast essentially is deploying a trojan horse that allows it to be directly in the middle of any "tv everywhere" customer authentication flow that takes place between its competitors and their customers.

If the Comcast/NBCU deal is allowed to take place then they will have significantly more programmers that they will control that they will force to use the Comcast authentication platform to interface with competing TV providers.

Are we to believe that they will not use this position to their advantage? Of course they will because their goal is to ensure they control "TV Everywhere." This is the only way that they can ensure that the monopolistic business model that has sustained them for all these years stays intact.

This type of industry control and domination can not be allowed to take place. It will stifle competition and have a negative impact on consumers.
