This is us

by Karoli on December 19, 2009

There’s a point where disagreement shifts from being strong argument to ugly. In some cases, I think we’re there with regard to whether the Senate health reform bill is good, bad, ugly, a sellout or anything else.

It’s 6 days before Christmas. Some people are uninsured. Many are unemployed. There’s enough negative in their lives already. Telling them that they’re being fed more bad isn’t particularly cheery.

This is us. We’re not a theory. We’re not a long pass to the goal. We get up every day and try to do something constructive. We keep hunting for the next opportunity and seize it.

We look. We hope. We count. We hope what we count on isn’t lost too.

Small things matter. It’s not all big things. Not always.
