Austin plane crash: Joe Stack’s suicide note

by Karoli on February 18, 2010

Oliver Willis has posted links to a website which appears to be owned by Joseph Stack, the alleged pilot that crashed into the Austin FBI/IRS office building this morning. If the text is authentic, it appears that Mr. Stack had ongoing resentment toward the government and the IRS in particular.

His somewhat rambling note on the front page ends with this:

Well, Mr. Big Brother IRS man, let’s try something different; take my pound of flesh and sleep well.

His signature indicates that he fully intends this to be a suicide note:

Joe Stack (1956-2010)

02/18/2010

The WhoIs information for the site is here, and a Google-cached version of the site from 2005 indicates the owner as “Joe Stack”. It certainly appears to be authentic, which means this incident is not terrorism, but a tragic ending to a life of dissatisfaction.

Note: If the site is pulled, Oliver has preserved the text as a PDF here.

UPDATE: The FBI confirms Stack’s ownership of the site according to CNN.

Just because this pilot was a crazy white man doesn’t mean that this crash was not an act of terrorism. This guy didn’t hang himself in the pantry; he CRASHED A PLANE INTO THE SIDE OF A BUILDING in the middle of a workday.

Joe Stack wrote a suicide note manifesto explaining his plane crash. The letter was revised 27 times and it was started two days ago. Building in Austinhttp://usspost.com/plane-crash-austin-usspost-com-6017/
