Don’t piss on progress

I am grateful beyond words that the last combat troops are leaving Iraq today. For those of you inclined to say, “but, but, but…there’s 50,000 left there!” I point you to these statistics. Note Afghanistan and Iraq have not been updated since May, 2010.

This was a war that didn’t have to happen, but it did. Today should be a day for celebration because at the very least, this war is over. And don’t forget, the remaining 50,000 troops are scheduled to leave Iraq by December, 2011.

I agree. I remember vividly “shock and awe” and how horrible I felt that day knowing what it meant for the country. Sorry for all those lives lost civilian and military.

It is great to see the soldiers leaving

Yes. Hats off to President Bush for bringing reason and democracy to an area devastated by barbarians in power. It’s good to see Obama following Bush’s plan to follow through with the withdrawal of our fabulous troops who have done so much to stop so much blood shed. Way to go Bush and our Ladies and Gentlemen in Uniform. Thank you from the Bottom of My Heart.
