I hope that in 2017, after leaving the White House at the end of his second term, he writes that book to his mother. And his grandmother. You cannot hear his words of tribute to his mother, spoken by him, without believing their sincerity and regret.
I was especially moved by his acknowledgment that he focused on the absent parent instead of the one always present, even when she was apart from her child. Sadly, it’s all too often the case. I’ve done it too.
Happy Mother’s Day to all Moms out there!
